FLORIDA’S MANDATORY FORECLOSURE MEDIATION PROGRAM ENDS
Florida Supreme Court Justice Charles Canady ended Florida’s mandatory foreclosure mediation program . The program, started in 2009, required lenders to mediate with their borrowers before they could complete the foreclosure process and take possession of their borrower’s home. Only four percent (4%) of cases that went to mediation were successfully settled at mediation. This decision will not affect county mediation programs that are mandated by the Chief Judges of the various circuits of the State of Florida.
